Julington-Durbin Creek Preserve is a massive 2,031 acre conservation area allowing for a diverse, mixed-use management. This preserve offers unique historical and excellent natural features. Here you will find the remnants of Sampson Road Bridge, which was part of the original 18th Century Kings Road. Julington-Durbin Creek Preserve also has exceptional pine forests with some old growth, allowing for superb nature viewing and birding. The Preserve is currently open for biking, hiking, and equestrians. Future plans include canoe and kayak access, as well as picnic pavilions.

Features:

The Preserve has approximately five miles of trail roads, a new boardwalk crossing wetland areas to get to Durbin Creek, fenced parking/entrance area, and two informational kiosks. The St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) is active in a longleaf pine restoration program. The SJRWMD is removing sand hill pines and replacing them with longleaf pine.
